| Brief introduction
to Anhui provincial expressway general company |
|
In early 1984, the provincial communication department
put forward a blueprint - ¡°build cross main framework
of east, west south and north run-through¡±. The
construction of the first expressway ¨C He(fei) Ning
(Nanjing) expressway in Anhui was inaugurated on
October 1st 1986, In order to strengthen operating
management of the He Ning expressway, Anhui Provincial
High-grade Road Administrative Bureau was officially
formed in February 1990. In order to further broaden
financing channels, raise funds and accelerate expressway
construction, Anhui Provincial Expressway General
Company was formed in April 1993. The bureau and
company incorporated with previously formed provincial
high-grade road engineering construction headquarters,
forming an organizational system of a leading body
and three name plates.
During ¡°the 8th five year plan¡±, Anhui Provincial
Expressway General Company built He(fei) Chao(hu)
Wu(hu) expressway, Dalong segment of He Ning expressway,
He(fei) Tong(ling) second-grade dedicated road for
automobiles one after the other. During ¡°the 9th
five-year plan¡±, it built Pang Xi hub of communications
and Gao(hebu) Jie(zidun) expressway. Through 15
year development, hardship and pioneering work,
the operating kilometer under the provincial expressway
general company has reached 556km. 398km among it
is expressway.
In order to further broaden financing channel, relieve
the fund restriction on expressway development,
Anhui Provincial Expressway General Company has
used all assets of He Ning expressway as capital
stock of state-owned stock and launched Anhui Wantong
Expressway Joint- stock Co., Ltd. The Company was
successfully listed in Hongkong in November 1996,
totally issued H-share of 493.01 million stocks
and raised fund of 837 million HK$ (930 million
RMB Yuan), and has become the first H-share listed
company in China. After listed, Wantong purchased
new line of Tianchang segment of 205 national road
in a full stock form and Xuan(zhou) Guang(de), expressway
in a stock holding form and participated the construction
of Gao (hezi) Jie(zidun) segment of Hu Rong road
in a stock participating form successively.
In the recent years, the company has energetically
developed towards other industries, combined production
operation with capital operation while conducting
good road construction and management. The company
has built an all-round and trans-trade development
strategy. It has established one full stock subsidiary
company, 5 holding subsidiary companies and 6 participating
subsidiary companies, involving in such fields as
engineering supervision, road construction, engineering
design, technological development, processing and
production, and real-estate development..
The company¡¯s registered capital is 1.89 billion
Yuan. By the end of 2002, the total kilometer of
expressway put into operation had reached 725km.
At present, expressways under construction are He(fei)
Xu(zhou) North and Guang(de) Ci(shangang) as well
as Anqing linking project. The total kilometer of
expressway will break 1000km and reach 1072km.
