| Brief Introduction
to Huaibei Mining (group) Co. Ltd. |

Huaibei Mining Group was totally transformed from
former Huaibei Mining Bureau, which was founded
in 1958. After over 40 years of development, it
has become a tremendous large-sized coal mining
enterprise with coal as its main product, but multiple
business and comprehensive development as well.
Being one of the 512 important enterprises in the
country, it is a major base of coal mining and of
fine coal export. Located in East China, northern
part of Anhui province, it is next to Jiangsu province
and Henan province. It is convenient in communication,
as its northern part is close to Longhai railway,
and the eastern part close to Jingjiu railway. Several
minor railways, like Qinglingshan,Fuyang, Fuliji,
Qouhezhai are going through the mining area. It
owns 287.41 km of self-managed railway which links
up every mine and every factory. Its convenient
waterway connects it with Hongzhe Lake, Huai River,
the Grand Canal and the Changjiang River.
The Huaibei mining area includes 4 coalfields, Nanxiao,
Linghuan, Guoyang, with a total area of 9,600 square
km, among which 6,912 square km containing coal.
The proved coal reserves is about 6.7 billion tons.
The mining area is rich in coal resources, with
8 kinds of coal, such as coking coal, 1/3coking
coal, gas coal, rich coal, lean coal, poor coal,
anthracite, natural coke. Though coking coal, rich
coal and lean coal are rare and short in the country,
their reserves account for 85.7% of the total reserves
here. There remain 480 million tons of high-quality
kaolin, 150 million tons of natural coke and 320
billion cubic meters of coal bed gas in the area.
There exist 14 pits in use, with ratified production
capacity of 17.3 million tons per year, producing
over 17 million tons of raw coal annually. One more
pit is under construction, with designed production
capacity of 1.5million tons per year. There are
6 fine coal washing factories, with washing capacity
of 1.5 million tons per year, producing smelting
fine coal about 4 million tons annually. There are
other 4 power coal dressing plants, with dressing
capacity of 4.8 million tons per year. Coal products
are various, such as raw mixed coal, fine coal,
mixed coal, washing coal dust. The quality of the
coal is high. They are ultra-low sulfur, ultra-low
phosphor and high heat coals It possesses a few
famous coal brands, such as Linghuan fine coal,
Luling fine coal. fine coal and.etc. The annual
coal sales amount to over 3 billion yuan. Its products
are supplied not only to enterprises in metallurgy,
chemistry, power and building material but to other
countries as well. For the last over 40 years, it
has produced 400 million tons of raw coal, gained
3 billion yuan of profit tax and US$500 million.
Apart from coal production, it deals in building,
building material, power generation, machinery making,
medicine, light industry, commercial trade, tourism,
forestry, breed, and tertiary industry. Some products
have been awarded titles of national high quality
product or provincial high quality product, such
as Xiangshan Cement, Huaihe aqueous gels, Fengshou
high efficient plant growth agent and etc. Their
annual sales amount to 1.5 billion yuan. Now the
corporation has the setup of multiple business and
comprehensive development.
